we would like to inform you transparently about a change in our pricing for private patients. With immediate effect, we are introducing a billing factor of 1.3 for treatments on a private prescription.
Our prices remain based on the current prices of statutory health insurance, the so-called GKV prices. For us, these continue to be the basis for fair and comprehensible remuneration of podiatric services.
Why are we introducing a factor for private prescription treatments?
Podiatric treatments require time, expertise, care and a high standard of hygiene. At the same time, the demands on practices are constantly increasing: documentation, material costs, hygiene regulations, further training, staff and premises costs as well as organisational effort keep growing.
Remuneration via statutory health insurance is clearly regulated. For private patients and treatments with a private prescription, however, a different billing framework applies. To reflect this additional effort appropriately while creating a transparent price structure, we will in future charge a factor of 1.3 based on the GKV prices for private prescriptions.
What does this mean in practice?
If you come to us with a private prescription, the respective podiatric service will still be calculated on the basis of the corresponding GKV price. This price is then multiplied by the factor 1.3.
A simplified example:
If the GKV price for a service is 50 euros, a factor of 1.3 results in a private price of 65 euros.
This keeps our pricing comprehensible, transparent and in line with the familiar GKV rates.
Important for private patients
Please note that reimbursement by private health insurers or government allowance offices (Beihilfe) may vary depending on your plan, contract and individual conditions. Your insurer may therefore not cover the full invoice amount.
If in doubt, we recommend checking with your private health insurer or allowance office in advance.
