Heute war es endlich so weit: Unsere Praxis Podologie Schley in Altenstadt/WN hat offiziell eröffnet! Mit viel Herz, fachlichem Know-how und moderner Ausstattung sind wir in unseren ersten Behandlungstag gestartet. Ab sofort stehen wir Ihnen mit professioneller Podologie und medizinischer Fußpflege zur Seite – für gesunde und gepflegte Füße.

Unser Ziel ist es, Patientinnen und Patienten aus Altenstadt, Weiden in der Oberpfalz und der umliegenden Region eine fundierte podologische Behandlung in angenehmer Atmosphäre zu bieten. Ob bei diabetischem Fußsyndrom, eingewachsenen Nägeln oder zur Prävention: Wir setzen auf individuelle Beratung, höchste Hygienestandards und moderne Technik.

Ein besonderer Höhepunkt war der Besuch von Herrn Ernst Schicketanz, 1. Bürgermeister von Altenstadt, sowie Frau Elisabeth Weiß, Gemeinderätin Altenstadt. Ihre persönlichen Glückwünsche und anerkennenden Worte waren eine große Wertschätzung für uns und unseren Neustart.

Besonders schön war eine kleine persönliche Anekdote: Unsere Tochter fragte den Bürgermeister ganz spontan nach einem Autogramm – und er gab es mit einem herzlichen Lächeln und bester Laune. Ein Moment, den sie und wir nicht vergessen werden!

Auch allen weiteren Gästen und Unterstützern möchten wir herzlich danken. Die positive Resonanz zeigt, wie groß das Interesse an qualifizierter medizinischer Fußpflege in Altenstadt und der Umgebung von Weiden ist.

For many patients, a soothing foot bath is simply part of a podiatry visit. But what is behind this seemingly simple measure - and how is it covered by health insurance as part of complex podiatric treatment?

The foot bath in complex podiatric treatment - not a mandatory service

The podiatry treatment guideline does not stipulate foot baths as a mandatory part of treatment. It is considered an optional service, i.e. it can be used as part of the treatment if it is medically necessary, but does not have to be carried out. Health insurance companies therefore only cover the costs if a therapeutic benefit is clearly recognizable, for example to soften severe calluses or to better prepare for treatment.

More than hygiene: a feel-good factor for our patients

In addition to the possible medical benefits, the foot bath also has a relaxing, soothing effect. Many patients find it a valuable way to get in the mood for treatment. It reduces stress, promotes blood circulation and creates a pleasant atmosphere. For older or sensitive people in particular, this is an important aspect of their visit to the practice.

Our decision for the footbath - with professional consideration

We have made a conscious decision to offer our patients a foot bath - because it can be both medically useful and beneficial. Nevertheless, we reserve the right to check whether a foot bath is medically necessary for each individual treatment. This is because it is not always therapeutically indicated, e.g. for open wounds or certain skin conditions.

Conclusion

The foot bath is not an obligatory component of complex podiatric treatment - but it is an option that we use in a targeted manner when indicated and for the well-being of our patients. For us, it is not only the medical effectiveness that counts, but also that our patients feel well looked after.

Sabrina not only has a wealth of experience - she has been working in podiatry for over 10 years and completed her in-depth training in Berlin. You can tell! With her calm nature, her professional competence and a lot of empathy, she will be a real asset to our practice.

Sabrina is a mother of three and has just moved to Weiden with her family - a courageous and exciting step that she is taking with great anticipation. We are delighted that she has decided to become part of our team!

So from August, you will have two podiatrists at your disposal: Sabine Schley and Sabrina Meyer-Albrecht. This means: more availability for appointments, more time for your needs and the highest quality in podiatry treatment.
